The Boondocks

I chose the characters from the cartoon show "The Boondocks" because I love that show, and I've been meaning to do an assignment using images from that show. Now I finally got to, and I really like the way it turned out.

Final

This is assignment 11, where I used 3 different technichues from previous assignments combined into 1 assignment. I used the Roy Lichtenstein's comic book look with the Ben-day dots, I used the metal technique for my word, and the cut paper montage.

Wonder Woman

This is the original picture from assignment 10. I chose wonder woman because sense this is a comic book theme, I should pick a comic book character, and I knew I wanted a female comic book character, so I chose wonder woman, also because the picture was simple to do, and it had simple colors. Overall, I think it was my best work.

Roy Lichtenstein

This is assignment 10, influenced by Roy Lichtenstein's use of Ben-day dots in his paintings for comic books. By using edit-stroke, I outlined my image 5 pixels wide in black, then used the pen tool to draw other details of the image, and then the brush tool to color in the image. To make the dots, I selected a grey swatch, went to filters-pixelate-color half-tone and changed the angles to 45, changed blending mode to multiply, and then create clipping masks. After that, I colored the background, drew other things with the pen tool, and then typed a word with the type tool to give it that comic book look.

Gymnast

I chose a picture of a gymnast for assignment 8 because I wanted an image that was simple, had color, and would look clear once I've done all the techniques.

Georges Seurat

This is the second part of assignment 8 from week 7. This assignment is influenced by Georges Seurat's paintings. By simply going to filter-pixelate-pointillize, filter-blur-gaussian, choosing a low radius, filter-artistic-sponge, choosing blending mode-hard light, and then image-adjust-curves, I was able to make my image look similar to the artist's paintings. This was the easiest assignment.

Glass Filter

This is assignment 8, where I used the type tool, then the gaussian blur, changed the words radius, clicked filter-distort-glass, loaded texture, and then modified the smoothness and distortion. I typed "wow" to place it in the second assignment of week 7, but it didn't work. This was the hardest assignment, but I still got the word to look like glass.

Metal

This is assignment 7 whereby using the grey color swatch, type tool, and fx icon, I was able to select from a variety of options to make my word look like metal. I think I did a good job to make my word look similar to metal. The reason why I typed Dayna was because I was going to place itin assignmnet 6, but the word did not appear in assignment 6 as it did in assignment 7, so I left it separate.

Dayna

This is a picture of my neice Dayna that I chose for assignment 6. I liked the way my assignment worked out, and using the cut paper montage techniques were very easy on this image.

Cut Paper Montage

This is assignment 6, where I used the lasso tool to trace my image of a person and every detail of that person, such as, eyes, lips, nose, hair, etc. While also making a new layer with each trace I made. Including when I colored each part that I traced, but I reduced the opacity after I traced the whole image. It was an easy process, and I enjoyed doing it.

Balloon

This is a picture of a balloon that I used for assignment 5. I chose this image because I wanted something that had lots of colors.

Outline & Fill

This is assignment 5, where I used the pen tool to trace my image, then reduced the opacity, hid my image, use the brush tool to color in the image, and selected a texture. I enjoyed doing this assignment and I liked the way it turned out.

Angel

This is the image I had chosen for assignment 4 because the image had so much detail; which I thought would be the best image to show the techniques of using the lineart crosshatching.

Lineart_ Crosshatching

This is assignment 4, where I duplicated my image, darken the threshold, and set my diagonals in each layer the opposite of each other. This assignment was difficult it didn't come out the way I really wanted it to.

Dog/ Wall

These are the two images I put together to make assignment 3. First image was a brick wall that I set as my backgound, and on top of that image I traced, copied, and pasted a picture of a puppy, which I used as the main image to appear as graffiti on the wall image.

Stencil Graffiti

This is assignment 3, where I used the dodge and burn tool for my image and placed it on a background image of a brick wall for my main image of a puppy to appear like a realistic graffiti art.

Ransom Note

This is assignment 1, where I used repeated techniques of the type tool and lasso tool to create my own ransom note on a background layer by selecting different fonts, color, design, and size for each word.
